PRP Skin and Hair Treatments

As part of our mission to offer the most innovative treatments for your aesthetic needs, we perform platelet-rich plasma treatments to rejuvenate aging or damaged skin. We also perform PRP therapy to naturally stimulate hair growth on the scalp for those experiencing hair loss. PRP is a serum made from your own blood’s growth factors that stimulate the regrowth of your skin’s cellular matrix naturally. The highly-qualified aesthetic specialists of Azalea MedSpa in Lenexa, KS, can educate you on all your options for treatment and help you decide if PRP therapy is right for you.

A Surge of Resilience

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a type of injectable therapy created from a sample of your blood. It is frequently used to rejuvenate the skin.

It is also an effective therapy for stimulating hair regrowth on the scalp. With PRP, the blood sample is processed in a centrifuge to isolate platelets and other growth factors, creating a natural healing serum. The resulting PRP solution can be injected in a stand-alone treatment or combined with other treatments like microneedling to optimize your results. Your Lenexa PRP treatments specialist can answer your questions about PRP and help you decide on the best treatment for you.

Naturally Nourishing

What are the benefits of PRP?

PRP works naturally with the body to yield multiple cosmetic benefits:
  • Smoother skin texture
  • More even skin tone Less visible lines and wrinkles
  • Optimal healing from complementary procedures like microneedling
  • Natural hair regrowth on the scalp
Whether you are looking for a natural method to rejuvenate your skin or are interested in reversing hair loss naturally, PRP may be able to help. Schedule your consultation to learn more.

Your PRP Procedure

Each PRP procedure begins with a blood draw. Next, your blood sample is processed in a centrifuge to create a high concentration of growth factors. An additive is also used to activate the sample. The sample is then ready to be injected into your treatment area. PRP treatments can be administered as standalone injections to rejuvenate the skin, or they can be administered to the scalp to regrow hair naturally. You may need to schedule a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart to achieve optimal results. PRP may also be used to complement and expedite healing from other procedures like microneedling.

More Radiant With Each Day

PRP Results

You may see an initial plumping effect within the first one to three weeks after your first treatment. It will take between one and three months for the full effects of a PRP treatment to show up on the skin, at which point you should see a more even, smooth tone and texture. When used as a hair growth treatment, results will also come on gradually, which has the added advantage of being less noticeable to others than a treatment like a hair transplant. Multiple treatments may be recommended for an optimal outcome. Your aesthetic provider will advise you on the best regimen to deliver your ideal results.

No Downtime Needed

PRP Recovery and Aftercare

It is possible that you’ll have soreness or bruising at the injection sites in the first couple of days after treatment. Because PRP is created from your own blood sample, there is a lower risk of side effects compared to treatments that introduce foreign materials into the skin. When used as a complement to microneedling, PRP may actually speed the healing process. You will be advised on how to cleanse and care for your skin as it heals.
